External Company to Manage Biosecure Bubble for Remaining PSL 2021 Matches
For the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League — once they are scheduled — the Pakistan Cricket Board has agreed to outsource the management of its biosecure bubble.
On Friday, the PCB held a high-level meeting in Karachi, a day after the sixth edition of the PSL was suspended due to seven COVID-19 cases involving players and officials within the bubble. The meeting debated different options for when and how the remaining PSL matches should be held.
“It has been determined that only one city will host the matches, and three windows are being considered,” a source close to the situation said.
“The best months to visit are May, June, or September. We’ll talk to franchises about player availability and the international calendar before settling on dates for the remaining matches,” the source said.
The PCB can face difficulties due to player availability and the international calendar. With a tournament in May, there will be a direct clash with the Indian Premier League, which includes some PSL players.
